Eliot was born with an undeveloped lung, a heart with a hole in it and DNA that placed faulty information into each and every cell of his body (Trisomy 18). However, that could not stop the living God from proclaiming Himself through this boy who never uttered a word. In the midst of heartbreaking tragedy, the Mooney family found the presence of God strengthening, comforting, and guiding them. Their story reminds us to seek God and endure our struggles rather than blame Him for our hardships.
Job 1:21 "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."
John 9:1-3 "As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi (Teacher), who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?""Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.”
Then in v. 6-7, Jesus heals the blind man ^^v That is the display of God's work in that blind man's life, as well as to the disciples, followers, villagers and other witnesses' lives!
Got this link when I was reading the daily devotional faith topic on http://www.christianity.com/ today. Treasure every minute you have with your loved ones =)
1 Thess 5:18 has been speaking to me for the past 2 months. "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." It is somewhat related to Job 1:21, when God sent all sorts of horrible stuff that any man can encounter on Earth. In good times we rejoiced with God, with our loved ones and frenz. But in bad times, we blame God, lament about why we deserved this kinda punishment etc. Yeah, how can we ever give thanks or rejoice when bad things happen to me and you... There must be a reason as to why God let it happened. This is not God's penalty for us, but instead He's using these situations to show us how He can make all things work for the good for us.
He sees things from the BIG aerial view, whileas we see from a bird eye view's perspective. We always want things to go our way; be it in studies, career, love life and all. Yet God 'spoils' our beautiful image of ideal life and inserts some obstacles along the way; to toughen us up and make us trust Him even more! Never underestimate God, you just dunno what He can do in your life next. He amazes me every single day, letting me live my life in awe for Him always. I Love You!
