Madness Happenings

Alright! Finally I can fork out some time to blog (: ain't you guys like, happy eh?

When I was busy mugging last week, I sat at my study desk for like 3/4 of the time I was awake. The other 1/4 of the time I was awake was purely eating and watching bit of TV. Very sad, I went on a 1.5 week long hiatus from my Mac.

So I being a normal human, need to relax after much mugging. Outta my bedroom window, I get to see all sorts of weather changes and feel all sorts of temperature changes. The cloud patterns never fail to interest me, with their ever-changing shapes, much thanks to the blowing wind up in the sky.

You can see how bored I am trying to study for my exam lor. LOL!

The Engineering Management exam last Friday, din turn out the way any1 in class had expected. Supposedly easy according to our tutor, but surprisingly long and tough accordingly to us the testees. Sighs. Very saddening and demoralising leh.

We complained to our Aussie lecturer and he tried to salvage the situation by moderating the grades if all of us had the similar problem. Sighs. Really trusting God to help us pull thru' this horrid exam nightmare. I'm going mad.

After a long week or so of exam mugging, I finally had a day off from any studying and we celebrated Madeline's (belated) 22nd birthday. A pity Shi Yun and Ying Xi missed it, only 4 of us turned up: Me, Cher Hao, Mad (duh!) and Alvin :)

Last minute hunting for Mad's pressie proved to be challenging and troublesome, we had been so busy for the past few weeks to even have decent shopping lah. Hence I met up with Cher Hao and we almost went mad and collapsed from exhaustion lah.

Proof of us going mad = retarded us.....
Now.. he's the worse of the two....

We had lunch at Just Greens vegetarian restaurant, situated at Chinatown. The food was good, excluding the diluted Longan with Almond Jelly dessert. Almond jelly no taste, longans so small and not juicy, the syrup is cold water. Not nice.

We had bought a lil Mango cake for Mad as her birthday cake, and left it with the restaurant staff as we were eating lunch. After 2 hours there, we left the restaurant w/o the cake or eating it either. What a joke.

We only realised it when we started to talk about the pressie's payment. LOL! Worse still, it was Mad, the birthday girl, who found out that she din have her birthday cake in her stomach lah! So paiseh can.....

We did contemplate going back to the restaurant to retrieve the cake, but it was too far and too much of a hassle. Moreover we were already inside the NEL station, so we gave it a pass and decided the birthday cake should give to the restaurant staff. I think the cake is vegetarian lah. No worries.

We decided to have 2nd round of dessert, this time at Plaza Singapura Swensens, and we had Giant Earthquake!! Can you feel the earth beneath you shaking right now??? HAHAHA~ just joking, I'm abit high now.

It was a mess when it arrived, much thanks to the whipped cream. We had Cookies N' Cream, Mango, Coffee, Ol' Fashioned Vanilla, Chocolate Peanut Buttercup, Butterscotch, Banana Spilt and Hazelnut! It was so cold and good that we forgot to take a pic, until after we have left a watery mess in the big ice-cream bowl ;p Talk about hungry kids.

We caught Ironman soon after, not forgetting popcorns and nachos! Wheeeeee~ We sure had a feast that day! We played till we literally dropped. Ironman was a rather witty show, 3 outta 5 stars!

Oh wells, the pics are still with Alvin, which I doubt I'll get any chance to post it up here anytime soon. So let's see how long he'll take lah. Right anot, Alvin? All in all, Mad never got to eat her birthday cake in the end, and we still owe her a pressie =\ We are such horrible friends, I know.

Sunday was the start of my new module, Engineering Economics and Finance (EFF). Bascially what I've learnt so far is just secondary school accounting lah. Not too bad.... yet =X

This is the cute textbook cover, on accounting for NON-Accountants. More like, Maths for K1 Kids lah.

I slept thru' the morning lecture as I was still tired out from Mad's birthday the previous day. Din get to sleep much either lor. Every1 in class was pleasantly surprised to see me sleeping like a pig lah, bcos Julia never does that in class one.

I know, I have surprised people with the weirdest stuff sometimes. That's Julia for you, just in case you din know ;p

As a result of going for the Sunday lecture, I missed out on Uncle Melvin's lunch treat for the sound and video crew in Region 5/6. Thank God I din manage to turn up, bcos initially they suggested seafood, but changed to Swensens then changed to fastfood. Heehee~

Much for me and Nicholas' hard work during evening service video duty, Uncle Melvin decided to bring us (me, Nic, Sis and Amos) to Changi Village for a sumptuous dinner! Oh, that's when I heard that the hawker centre there actually sells goreng chempada* (fried jackfruit)! Oh my, I love that, much thanks to the intro by Shawn aka Humpty Dumpty @ Kingsmen.

Uncle Melvin was nice enough to rush to the nearest stall to buy for me goreng chempada, but sadly, they have sold them out! Boo hoo~ I'll be back the next time round!

We ended up ordering bbq stingray, fried hokkien mee, lotsa satay, fried oyster and a big cup of sugarcane juice! WOW! We were drooling at the sight of all the food lah! We literally grabbed whatever we could, we were hungry lil pigs!
Yes, my sis was grinning excitedly at the sight of all the food. Nic has already started action lah!

The lil pigs, Nic and Sis
That's my lovely pair of wooden chopsticks stuck in my mouth while snapping away. Got the hokkien mee taste mah!

LOL! We sure did had lotsa fun crapping non stop in the van. Eh nope, I think I was the biggest clown of the lot, making lotsa noise at the back of the van, singing and all.

Oh wells. Life is like a pressure cooker, let yourself loose whenever you can ;p Dun go acting like a civilised and disgusted person when you see people acting all loony and retarded. You have your retarded days too hor.

This week has been a crazy week of EFF lectures and I'm mentally drained out. I even started my 1st driving practical lesson! Yes, I am finally learning how to drive. So I've learnt, eh gear 1 and 2 and left turn. I keep forgetting how to coordinate well with the clutch and love to over-accelerate on the gas pedal ;p The "vroom" sound is absolutely lovely to hear lah.

I paid good money ($39/session) to step on that bloody pedal ok?! Price hike, thanks to the rising oil prices lah, so as what the instructor mentioned. I was rather peeved that he din inform me of his "new price", until after the entire lesson. Sad. Previously $36/session mah, market rate leh. I feel so cheated lah. I looked like a total idiot when I heard the "new price". Booooooo!

Anyway, an interesting pair of slippers I saw yesterday after class, in the train.

This dude's slippers has no other toe grip other than the one in between his big toe and index toe. I was just wondering how was he gonna walk or run, given that it look rather loose, uncomfortable and insecure.

Next thing I saw, he alighted from the train. Just as predicted, he was really having difficulty walking and preventing his precious "unique" slippers from dropping into the train gap. LOL! What an hassle lah. Poor silly dude.

Ok, time to go bcos I've blogged my dues already. Savour on it ya ;p Ciaos guys!

Patience is a Virtue

2 days back, we had our monthly prayer walk session with the Siglap Sec kids once again. On my way to Zi Heng's house, these 2 particular Malay girls boarded the bus 34. (Note: I'm not being racist here, but apparently I was rather peeved by them.)

I noticed the older girl was wearing a purple tube top, rather nice though. Sad thing was that, this girl din know or maybe purposely chose to expose her nice dirty white bra and her top was not even covered an inch of her bra lah!

I was rather disgusted by her exposed bra. What more, I noticed this lil safety pin stuck in between her left bra strap and the buckle strap area. Sad case. She can't afford to buy/wear a new bra. Sighs. The entire bus' passengers could see that she was wearing a one-hook bra (i.e. A cup), I reckon.

Enough of the exposed bra, I wanna puke already. The younger girl with her was the annoying one. Like what Darren always say,"If I wasn't a Christian, I would have done/said.......".

Ok, so this lil girl started to action her Sony Ericsson phone once she sat her butt onto a seat, diagonal to me. She played those sucky and repetitive Techno songs and it's worse than DJ Sammy's "God is a Girl" or those stupid ah-beng tunes lah.

Oh my, that agonising music experience lasted for 15 mins non stop lah. I was reading my FTT book rather worriedly bcos the test was just the following day! I was rather peeved by the music after 5 mins and I started to open my eyes big and wide at her. Meaning: STARE!!!!!

Arghhh! I am so mad at that instant, I wanted to diao her and shout "DIAM!" (keep quiet, in Malay) at her to switch off that irritating song she was playing lah. She saw me staring at her and we started playing the staring game together.

Thank God, I was patient and I controlled myself, else I think I would have punch her stupid act-ah-lian face long ago lor. She made my blood boil man! I decided to sneak a pic at her, but apparently I was discovered rather easily bcos I was so dumb at being paparazzi =\

She told the older girl and both of them diao me. I decided to act stupid and stare.... outta the bus window. Please lah, I dun wan cat fight in the bus hor. I was very tempted though. They were smaller than me, I could have beaten them up rather easily lor.

This is the stupid chao ah-lian (in orange), acting all snubbish. Grrrr!!!

Both girls then alighted 2 stops after the staring episode. Sighs. What a waste. I could have at least slapped their face, to teach them a lesson, not to act ah-lian* (female gangster) and play stupid techno in the bus.

Good thing was, I reached Zi Heng's house rather safe and sound, w/o injury nor anger. Haha! This adorable lil creature was greeting me rather excitedly when I arrived at the door. LOL!

Everyone, meet Mickey, the Maltese dog. Nope, not the Disney mouse.

His hair is so darn long that we decided to style up his hair abit :D

Bad thing abt long hair is, blocked vision. Goes the same for dogs, boys and girls. You reading this now, dun act all stupid now.

He is rather white, other than his paws and mouth, all brownish - much thanks to his saliva. Yucks!

Prayer walk session was good, the pointers were rather apt for this month and season that our church was going thru. God really answers prayers, keep that faith alive and burning hot for Him!!

The weather is ridiculously crazily warm and the viruses affecting and infecting Singapore is very bad. Pray that we will be safe and healthy and not let these viruses pull us down!

Sleep early, that's the first step to a healthy lifestyle. Geez, sound so HPB (Health Promotion Board). Eeeeeeee~

Praise the Lord!

I went for some yummy food sampling with Han Ping 2 days back, at Expo. It was a massive world of food there in the 6 halls there! WOW~!!!

Check out the pics here =)

Izzy's been found and is happily back with Beng. Woo hoo~ God answered our prayers, hope that poster did some help too =D heehee! YAY~ so happy :D

I finally passed my FTT (Final Theory Test) and have applied for my PDL (Provisional Driving License). Test date is just 2 days b4 sis' birthday & Beijing Olympics, 06.08.08! Hahaha~ I'm so happy today.

Praise the Lord!

Wanted to post some pics in but Blogger seems to be abit siao*(crazy) today, so nevermind. It's gonna be another packed weekend and it's gonna be great! Hahaha~ till then, enjoy your weekend too!

Pray for God's Protection

Lately all kinds of viruses have been out on a lil epidemic in Singapore. This is so not good. First was SARS, then Dengue followed by some new strains of the flu virus, and now a relapse of HFMD (Hand Foot Mouth Disease).

We were just praying for the entire church, especially the lil toddlers in nursery and the kids in Sunday school; for God's protection to cover them. This is getting real scary, but still, nuthin is too BIG nor too difficult for God to handle ;p AMEN!

I had planned my monthly prayer walk for Siglap Sec this thursday, but sadly Amanda, one of my most "on" Siglap kids kana HFMD last Friday. Sighs. She got 9 days MC! It's no good lah. Spiritual attack once again.

Thank God we just got a new boy in our Siglap group, Abel Koh (: Welcome~!

Still praying for Izzy (more info) to come back home quick, it's been 4 days already =\

My reports are finally submitted in and now is hardcore exam revision liao. Well, hopefully I can get flying colours for this sem, for this 2 modules.

Off to Ikea tml for some shopping for Simon (in Timor now). He did try very hard to sweet talk me into helping him though and it worked (: Hahaha~ no lah... A friend in need is a friend in deed!

Continue to keep Amanda, Izzy, Siglap Sec, Simon and every1 else here, who are so close and dear to us, in good prayers ya ;p Goodnight!

Izzy is MISSING!!

Click image for an enlarged view!

Apparently, Beng's cat, Izzy, was lost after his daily night stroll last Saturday (19/4/08), at about 1am. It must be the big thunderstorm and bright flashes of lightning that scared Izzy. You know cats, afraid and wary of almost anything bigger than them. Sighs.

He must be very frightened and hungry now. Hopefully there are kind souls who have spotted him and picked him up to feed and care for him during the last 2.5 days.

So I'm trying to help Beng by putting up Izzy's "Missing" poster, thru my lil blog, to get anyone to spot it. If any of you are staying around Oxley Road or River Valley district area, and if you are super free today, go take a walk and try help find Izzy ok? Beng is very very worried right now =\

Thank you very much for your help, on behalf of Beng, and the gang of cat lovers (which is US!) =)

*Edited to add: Check out this site for more pics and info on Izzy! Forum topic created for Izzy @ here!

**Edited to add again: Izzy was found on 25.04.08, after a traumatic 6 days. He is finally back with owner, Beng. Congrats!

To Look Forward or Not?

Time sure flies, it's almost the end of April already! That also means that my Engineering Management exam is coming real soon =\ Oh no!

The weather have been rather crazily warm and stuffy lately. Even when it rains, it's sunny rain, no wind. It is so difficult to concentrate and focus on my work. Sighs.
The circled area: raindrops!

Bright and sunny, yet it's raining....

The 2nd pic look rather oriental to me. The black & white pic gives a clean feel, the leaves of the tree and the top of the  walkway shelter just look different from the usual colours. You reckon?

I was just looking at my organiser and I was surprised to see my May schedule was rather empty as of now. That doesn't mean I want more work to do or I'm very free to slack ar.

May is the end of one module and the start of another, almost immediately. So, just me relax and enjoy my studies bcos I haven't been focussing alot on it since March and I got a feeling I'm not gonna get my long-awaited distinction grade for Eng Mgmt already. Haiz.

This year is gonna be a tough year to get thru, with the mounting load of projects and assignments I'm facing.... alongside with church ministries and its commitments. God, I really need your ultimate strength to get me thru this remaining months of 7.5 months of 2008!

I still need to get my Class 3 driving license else papa will say me till I go deaf. I rather be chauffeured around lah. Haiya!

That's the "sian" look I always give to him, anyways....

Yes I know, I'm a lazy girl.

On a happier note, once April hits 30th, that's when my bank account gets the 1st installment of the GST offset payout lor. So I'm wondering now, should I look forward to end April anot.....

GST Offset $$

Thank you Lord for your continuous and amazing ways of blessing me (:

GST Offset letter has arrived and it looks like my bank got some replenishment once again ;p YAY!

I'm so happy I can eat a chicken up now =D

My Friends - SHSS

I realise that over these past 10 years of living on earth, there is always a season when you start making very close contact with a friend for a period of time and then it becomes the usual meet-to-catch-up session or maybe I-dun-see-a-need-to-hang-out-with-you-anymore type.

Well, maybe I shall talk with my Secondary school friends first - bcos we went way back in 1999! I'm gonna write alot of words, so enjoy reading if you want to.

Serene was the first girl I talked to, partly bcos she sat next to me and she looked decent to me. Well, thank God we managed to click rather well and fast became close friends and "sisters" after 4 good months of friendship.

Just as suddenly how we became friends, we just decided we had enough of hanging out with each other and we din really hang out anymore after Sec 1 =\ weird eh.

We did had fun with our Donkey and Penguin jokes, which caused us detention for 3 days and a terrible scolding from our parents. Our offence: Intimidating classmates -.- what the heck!

 +

Then I started to hang out with Usha, she was a interesting and hyper girl to hang out with. Something different from the usual guai kia* (good and obedient kid). Haha! I always hang out at her cool 4-storey terrace house at Kembangan and we always shared lil secrets together. That's why I first hung out so well with an Indian girl. She's a nice girl (:

Somehow or rather I thought that it would be nice to have more people in our friendship circle, so I roped in Ying Xi and we 3 became great pals. However, as the well-known saying goes, "Good things always come to an end".... that led to our quarrels and arguments by the frequent letter-passing to and fro in the classroom and once, in the excursion bus O.o

I became the traitor, the betrayer and the loser lah. Ying Xi was caught in between us both and I think she wasn't spared either lah. Kinda got a taste of a lil racial disharmony back then eh.

So we finally called off the great racial-harmonious friendship and I started to hang out with Ying Xi more. So this is my definition of I-dun-see-a-need-to-hang-out-with-you-anymore type.

Frankly, I din regret that decision of the "seperation" bcos that was the 1st step to finding my true friends in my life (:

As we headed on to Sec 2 together, Usha and Serene became great friends - much thanks to me =\ in the wrong way. LOL! Meanwhile, Ying Xi and I became awesome friends with Angelina and Shi Ru, much thanks to IPW back then. IPW was an intensive group project and that was much hated by the class lah.

Our group name was a big classic and it stayed with us till now ;p We are the Speedy Foursome girls! The origin of our group name was hilarious lah.

Speedy: Back in 1999, J-pop first came into SG and Speed was the 1st female popular Japanese group to make it big. Shi Ru was a huge J-pop fan, so she suggested Speed. Moreover we needed speed in completing our project mah.

Foursome: Ok, we were thinking dirty back then. You know threesome.... =X so since we have 4 girls in the group as well as in Speed, we called ourselves "foursome" =\ cliche I know, but 14 years old kids only think simple stuff mah.

Our one and only Speedy Foursome pic!

Quite happy to say that our friendship is still going on strong to date, although we have all gone to different study courses in life. This is my definition of "meet-to-catch-up session" friends. We went thru thick and thin, happy and sad moments, angry and petty days, quarrels and arguments -nudge Shi Ru- ; which ultimately made our friendship so strong and yet happening.

Sec 3 came, I was rather sad to leave my Sec 2 friends. We had so much fun together, bonding and all. That's when I started to be slightly more rebellious and low-profile in school. I was a super introvert, only talking to people whom I found familiar.

Not many people found me friendly and most thought I had an evil tongue in me - which I did lah. Hahaha! I was always full of sarcasm and scorn of people. That was also when I started growing upwards real fast!

I started to hang out with Hui Shan and Adelene alot, always playing netball or volleyball together. Eating lotsa canteen food, drinking bubble tea, disturbing younger juniors, hanging out at TM etc.

Always got caught by Mrs Sui for talking excessively to Adelene during Maths class. Always disturbing Alvin for stationery, Carol for lil gossips, laughing at fat Fabius for crying and being a stupid fool.

That lil friendship was fruitful but it din last long. Sec 4, I crossed lines and attempted to change for the better. I started to hang out with Shi Yun, a super good girl. Hahaha~ who happens to be one of my buddies now ;p She was the total opposite of me; writes very neatly, talks very nicely, demure in disposition, well-liked by all and more. LOL!

I remembered, she was the one who talked me round to try to change my speech and my ah-lian attitude towards people. One fine day during the Sec 3 December school holidays, we were talking on the phone when she told me about how I was not very well-liked by many in class. I din care a hoot, seriously.

She mentioned that I had offended her in my words b4, which I had no recollection to date. She then suggested R&R (Reflect & Refocus), our secondary school style of detention, during the last 2 weeks of school holidays. I was laughing when I heard that, but I did listen to that silly suggestion after all.

When Sec 4 started, I did try my best to cut down on sarcasm (it was so difficult not to suan anyone lah!) and I found myself much more received and welcomed by the classmates.

Oh well, the good of R&R. That's when I found more of my buddies in that class. Alvin, Madeline, Shi Yun, Cher Hao (: and I became more extroverted too.

As God had arranged it, Mr Lee was good enough to let us choose where and who we wanna sit with. I sat with Alvin, Madeline and Cher Hao behind us, Shi Yun on the other side of the class. LOL! We also lasted this far and long. -hugs-

Let's all continue to laugh like retards for the next 50 years together!

But I was especially closer to Cher Hao back then in Sec 4, bcos he needed a love adviser/helper back then. LOL! Hilarious love history of his, but it was interesting getting to know him better thru the long phone calls thru the nights then. Few times we managed to talk from beginning of bedtime to end of bedtime. In school we macham zombies still can talk summore. Hahaha~

From helping him find his love, it ended up we becoming each other's first in our lives. He actually became my first boyfriend, with all my expectations. What an irony! -shake head-

Stop laughing ar, Ying Xi + Shi Yun + Alvin....

Ok, that's a heck of alot of words today. I'll write about my church pals, those who are closer to me ;p

*Friends are so important in one's life, treasure them well!

Bruises

*p/s: a lil update - paintball was fun!! pics shall come soon, once my classmate sends them to us (:

Sadly, I got myself another bruise =\ on my butt this time round. Those stupid boys so idiotic lah. My thumb and knuckles also kana shot, the pain stings like ARGHHH~!!!!

I feel like blogging today but I have no idea what to type on.

Presentation on Wednesday was rather smooth, managed to bullshit quite well thru my slides -phew- As usual, that Indian tried to make me strangle him again. Everyone in class could see that urge on my face. LOL!
frown + pout face = me, on Wednesday

Feeling rather relieved that presentation was settled, I decided to go to Toa Payoh yesterday, with Jemima to help Uncle Melvin again. We din really do much productive work unlike the previous times, yet we did more of walking around the building and travelling around Singapore.

The travels yesterday has hence has gotten me another nice blue-black bruise, yet again. Much thanks to those silly people who peeved Uncle Melvin rather badly and doing stupid nonsense to waste our time. Oh nevermind.

Back to the bruise, remember that "love bite bruise" at Kingsmen 2 months back? Yeah, now the bruise is on the flip side of the same suay* (unlucky) upper arm. Sighs. Looks like an aggressive love bite now. Craps.

I'm actually trying to gather my mood to continue to finish up my reports since it is due next Wednesday. This weekend is another packed one. I'm going to play Paintball with my classmates tml, our very 1st mass outing together after a year (: very nice, I like.
Look cool eh - shooting with a nice-looking gun.

Ouch! Hopefully I dun end up like him =\

Sunday will be yet a usual repetition of busy stuff back-to-back again. Sian. Just wanna nuah now. Stupid weather is so humid, rain and shine at crazy timings, making me extremely moody and grumpy and lazy. Booooo!

Out with the Buddies

It's a waste I din take any pictures yesterday, when we met up for dinner at Clarke Quay. Rare to get most of us out: Cher Hao, Ying Xi, Robyn, Shi Yun, Zhu Jia and me! Wasted that Alvin and Madeline were busy working night shift last night.

Dinner at Waraku, The Central, was full of laughter and joy. Shi Yun managed to update us on her latest happenings and her upcoming big day. We all started sidetracking to weddings and future families and housing etc. Wahahaha~

Destress-ed together at Settlers' Cafe, just opposite The Central. My 1st time there, a rather pleasant experience.

Zhu Jia finally joined us and we were playing those unusual yet amusing games! We drank all sorts of Dinosaur drinks, snacked on the finger food like hungry animals - although we were full from dinner earlier on, laughed like retards bcos the games were simply too amusing and bullshitty (:

The guy who was rather nice to explain to us the games and the rules, entertaining and patient enough to demo and bullshit with us too. LOL! It's worth paying for the service charge there lah, unlike those screwed up places that charge us 10% for nuts!

Ended at 10 plus, we strolled back to The Central carpark and Ying Xi was sweet enough to drive all of us home - although it was literally all over Singapore! Yew Tee to Yishun to Tampines to Bedok Reservoir to East Coast area = win already!

Full tank initially, ended up half tank when she reached home, I reckon. Heehee~ thank you babe! -muacks-

In summary, a fun day out with the buddies, I like! Next outing, Madeline's 22nd birthday, coming real soon!

His Plans Will Never Change Just For You

*This entry is mainly about my testimony of how God has spoke to me yesterday, so if you are not very into this kinda stuff, you can choose to close or read on this page (: cheers!

I think I remembered the prophesy that was spoken to the congregation at yesterday's morning service. That was b4 the sermon. This dude was talking about finding our purposes in God and in our lives.

After the sermon, this lady from the Chinese congregation shared her testimony on how God has placed her over the Chinese outreach ministry - which is rather similar to what I'm gonna share further down (:

Just moments ago b4 he spoke about that, I was just asking God if my very existence in the Youth ministry was what He had initially called me to do - to serve and help His people, the lost and helpless lil kids out there, w/o proper guidance in life.

Well, I was feeling that way bcos of certain issues that were happening in my life and even in the church =X

I just needed reassurance from God so that I can be able to carry on serving Him with a spirit-filled purpose in my life. I hate to walk my life aimlessly nor make it a routine - my close friends will be able to vouch for that. Hahaha!

So when the prophesy was said, I was like, "God, You sure do answer me fast eh. I was just causally asking only leh." LOL! But that response from God did made me feel more reassured and comforted, knowing that I can always count on Him in good and bad times.

After going thru some ups and downs, unhappiness and dissatisfaction, stressful and annoying situations, there were good and rewarding moments too. God helped me thru my struggle to coordinate the Siglap Sec campus outreach.

Firstly, I was not a Siglap-ian, as they call themselves. Secondly, I know nuts about their school. Thirdly, I have to learn from scratch to build rapport and support with these lil youths. Fourthly, I dun have so much time in my schedule to squeeze in this campus thing.

Well, when Karina first called to approach me to take up this role as campus regional coordinator, I was weighing the scale for this offer. After that long 10 minutes long call, I accepted the role; reason being, it was a very good opportunity for me to learn more about the things youths go thru nowadays, as compared to my student's years era.

Just in case you din know or dun have a clue why I keep harping on the youths, it is bcos I feel that this is what God has placed me here to do. I have a burden and a passion to help the today youths in terms of various current issues, such as: peer pressure, studies, self-esteem, friendship or BGR, family and being a confidant to them.

So as what the Chinese lady testified in her testimony, she was also weighing the scale whether to accept the role as the regional coordinator over the Chinese outreach. God told her, "I will find someone else if you dun want this role. My plans will never change just bcos of you."

WOW! That hit me hard too. That was what God told me too, when I was weighing the scale for Siglap Sec.

So back to where I left off, the Siglap campus outreach. I have indeed learnt alot from the 6 Siglap-ians and they are full of drama when they talk about their school - teachers and students alike.

Prayer walk and sharing sessions with them are always fruitful and I always learn a new perspective from their point of view. God has made me grow more and enabled me to communicate easily with the youths too, to the extent that they are rather comfortable talking to me even as a friend, and not as a leader high up there. I like being treated as a friend, putting age, status and position aside.

God has also let me grow more in Him, in terms of compassion and patience too. He lets me trust Him more in all seemingly-impossible aspects of life. He is good~ and His love indeed endures forever!

This is one rewarding point of serving the Youth ministry in VFC, and I won't mention any unhappy issues here (: no worries!

I miss my ol' net group, with Amos and the lil mischievous kids there. The amount of effort we have put to minister in those lil lives there, the friendship and closeness we all shared together, the trust and level of comfort going out together etc.

Since I'm called to go to another net now, I'll continue to try my best to build rapport and friendships with these older youths - though Karina and I are still the oldest lah ;p It takes time and sincere effort, so hang in there. I need to expand my time man!!

Ok, this prophesy-cum-testimony thing has lead into a long story. Hee~

The sermon that Pastor Danny Han shared to us at yesterday's service, was rather interesting to me too. He spoke about the end days and how false teachings will come to corrupt this world.

2 Timothy 3:1-17 - I was just reading this passage with Christina during discipling last Sunday lor. Talk about coincidence eh. Pastor Danny also spoke of this New Age Movement (NAM) thing, the Law of Attraction and the "Spirit of Abraham".

Frankly, this is rather new to me so I went to google-search those stuff today! They used bits and pieces of the Bible and the teachings and twisted them into their own doctrines. That is blasphemy! The last days as mentioned in the Book of Revelations are really coming to pass and time is running out!

Go read up on those stuff and maybe you might wanna check out the movie "The Secret", a 2006 Hollywood film. It outlines the NAM and all of the above bullshit lah. I'm going to do so myself!

Ok, I think you guys are tired of reading all those words already. Time to sleep ;p

A Different Sunday Service

Yesterday Sunday morning service was rather different from the usual regional service. First reason being, it is combined with R9/10. Second, we had KFC for lunch together as a church. Third, we had a lil balloon sculpture contest - to see which colour balloon is the tallest.

An array of 12 different balloon colours!

but end up everyone made longest line -.-
Dark blue balloon team eventually won.... w/o any prize :D

Last but not least, we had our first ever held fastest-sms contest!

The verse to key in was 1 Corinthians 12:12 "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ."

Fastest fingers first, I think I came in 2nd place! Wheeee~~ so happy when the last 4 digits of my hp number was announced by the pastor! Wahahahaha!

Not bad lah, managed to win $20 worth of NTUC vouchers leh. Thank God for blessing me with that, bcos I gave those vouchers to my mama for grocery shopping and at the same time I could pay off bit of my hp bills mah! 一举两得, smart right ^^v

Great time fellowshipping with the youths (: and I tried to help Wei Gin with her History and Geography too, although I have seriously forgotten most of it already =\ 9 years ago stuff, return back to my teachers liao lah! And, there was Miss Jemima laughing at me for teaching nonsense -.- thanks ar girl... I did tried my best to help lah.

Dinner with Cher Hao and Alvin was rather fun ;p Ate at Hot Tomato Express located at Plaza Singapura B2, the food there is rather affordable and nice - din take pics bcos my hp memory card was low =\ hee~

Watched Charlie Bartlett with the dudes - Alvin had FREE movie tix! This is one feel-good yet funny American movie man. 3/5, can make it lah. Go watch it if you're very free.

I have finally tidied up part of my study area and cupboard, so it's time to really try to study abit harder now. Project discussion tonight, sian!

Fun, Drama and Trauma

**No pics in today's entry as I din see how I should input any today, so enjoy :D

It has indeed been a busy week man.

Just had our regional youth activity today at Pasir Ris Park. I feel old and body aching already. Fell into the mud several times, ran up and down the beach umpteen times, shouting the group cheer like fools, getting all sunburned like lobsters, doing retarded things to gain extra points etc. Oh my, I regretted not working out more often now. LOL!

After so much fun and rain and sun, we came in 2nd place; given I knew I was the group leader just b4 lunch, I think my team did a rather great job together =D thanks to Pamela, Daphne, Thaddeus, Wei Shane, Pamelia and Michelle! -hugs-

Here is our rather forceful and cliche cheer from my group. Enjoy, or rather try to enjoy!

We are group number one,
We will run run run,
We are group number one,
We have fun fun fun,
We are group number one,
We are one one one!

Goooooo.... Group One!!

Ok, so I had my Engineering Management quiz few days back, I was rather confident though I did study the basic stuff and not sink my teeth into the lecture notes like a geek lah. After all it was only 15 MCQ lah, how difficult can that get right?!

Stupid tutor gave my paper back yesterday and I was so sad when I saw my marks. 8/15! That just can't do man, where did I went wrong to deserve such horrible marks lah... Lo and behold, tutor marked wrongly after marking many times.

My actual marks was 11/15, so I was like, "I knew it man, I knew I wasn't that lousy in tikam-ing..." Oops! I meant, thank you Lord for blessing me with such great marks although I din get full marks ;p

Oh, I got a really bad shock last night when I was walking home after class. I was rather engrossed in sms-ing while walking along the car park, considering the distance between 2 lamp posts was rather far, it was rather dark in-between.

*Disclaimer: this following account is not meant to invoke racism nor sarcasm to anyone in particular, so just read it and forget it when you exit this page later. Thank you.

Suddenly, I heard this male voice, all calm and 'nice' saying, "Excuse me....." When I looked up to see the 'voice', it was an Indian giving me a bright smile - just showing me his pearlie white teeth.

Oh my gosh, how I literally jumped out of my skin, pardon the pun. I looked classically shocked, stunned, annoyed and giving that what-the-stupid-hell look to that man. But upon seeing his weird smile, my mind worked out thoughts rather massively despite my tiredness.

My thoughts at that instant was that, "Will I get abducted/raped/kidnapped/chased by this weird Indian at 9 plus on a Friday night??? Am I gonna die now??!" Sorry for the drama, but no shit here man, I really thought I was going to see the Lord already =\ Sighs. Talk about lousy nights eh.

That guy just blended into the darkness so well that I couldn't make out who was smiling at me initially lah. Stupid sia....

Stop laughing lah. Not funny can...

I thought again (after we continued on our seperate ways), why did he say "excuse me" when I wasn't even obstructing his way in the car park.... that dude could have overtake me and shut his gap, rather that 'attempting' to collide into me and trying to be all gentlemanly to caution me to be careful when walking on the road.

You get it, he just want me to notice his presence and acknowledging him by letting him pass me by. What the heck!!!

Come to think of it hor, just in class, 2 hours b4 that weird incident, my project mate, that Indian dude, made me rather peeved and I almost kicked his butt out of the project group lah. What's up with them nowadays man?!

Anyway, I got so much to say but I always forget after a long day of activities and not having the energy to blog it out either. So, wait up ya, it's gonna be a busy month for me with all these crazy deadlines, demands and expectations everyone's asking from me lah.

Time to eat b4 I officially start on my work =) heehee~ hungry after all the hoo-ha lah =X
