Finally, our 2nd major outreach event for Siglap Secondary (: It was held on last Monday, during the National Day school holiday, 11th August. Although there were some lil setbacks this time, thank God for a smooth and fun day that we have had!
This time, we had 6 visitors, down from the 19 we had during the BBQ. Much "thanks" to ghost festival and all the superstitions etc lah. At least we all still enjoyed ourselves, when there were horrible grey clouds above us yet the sun shone above everything else; so we are thankful for that.
We arrived late in the morning at Palawan beach as our beloved Siloso beach was under revamps and we could not kayak as planned. The trams were long (in terms of waiting time and the length of the vehicle). Heehee!
We went to change and applied massive amount of sunblock all over our bodies. Sadly, I was so blur (maybe bcos I always eat lotsa sotong), I forgot all about the back of my shoulders. Needless to say, at the end of the day and till now, my shoulders are so badly sunburned and they hurt so much lah!
We decided to take a all-girls' group pic to commemorate and start off the day, smiling of course!
Haha! We dumped our stuff under the coconut tree, without any supervision, and left to play at the beach happily. Thank God, nothing was missing although the beach patrol guy was warning us to be careful of random strangers grabbing unsupervised bags.
It was a bright and clear day, mostly, other than the occasionally grey looming clouds lah. The waters at Sentosa was super clear (but still very salty, as usual), and it was my 1st time seeing such clear waters in Singapore!
I could actually see my feet so clearly lah! Amanda was even saying, we should have a coral reef here in Sentosa too, so we can admire the corals beneath the clear waters. That's how clear it was lah!
Next up, all the fun and games lah. We played beach volleyball, frisbee, water polo (with a soccer ball and a inflatable beach ball), sand volcanos, burial of Jarel, throwing people (no, Amanda only) into the waters and more. LOL!
........ and the girls...... what else can you expect from boys right.....
Angry Amanda was so angry, she was going to eat the boys up after they allegedly push her into the water =\ bad choice boys!
While the other boys were busy playing sand volcanos, Amanda proceeded to bury lil Jarel in sand......
..... and he ended up being a lady =X
Notice the humps? -awkward laughter- Hurhur~
Ok, enough of Amanda and the boys. On the other side of the beach, her friends were busy entertaining themselves in the waters, doing, eh..... nothing?
Eh, yups, nothing.
Sunburned us decided to go try out this Skyrider & Luge Combo (1 ride) for $10! It was an interesting ride, an open-air cable car style. As the skyrider ascends the cable, we all started to feel the chill of heights bcos we weren't very protected, if you get my drift. Yups.
Legs are hanging high up in the air, with lotsa trees and big patches of grass below. Sweaty palms and fear of my dear handphone dropping as I continue to snap pics of people and the Southenmostend of the Asian Continent's scenery.
On the luge (sth like Go-Kart).... the helmet looks disgusting on me!
The slowcoaches behind us !!!
All in all, we have a wonderful day although there were disagreements here and there. Most of them were rather open to church and all, but it will need more time as parental objections are quite strong as of now. We need prayer for these young kids!
In our next event, it'll be potluck and I reckon it'll be messily fun! Continue to keep this school in prayer ya ;p
Thank God once again, for the open hearts, the opportunity to have them coming to Sentosa, the Siglap core team ever so on for God and their school, the great weather, no injuries and no glitches in any aspects on Monday.
p/s: I lost that new inflatable green beach ball that very day. It just disappeared into nothing at the end of the day. So sad. I'm gonna claim inside my budget man! Hee!
