Day 5
9.30am: Happy Easter Sunday to one and all~! Jesus has risen!!
We ate the same breakfast for the past 4 days already. Zzzzzz!
10.30am: Easter (international) service at Royal Benja Hotel, by Hope Bangkok.
Wonderful time of worship we had, the sermon was good, the youth presentation of how Christ has died for our sins, was so real and 3 people got saved that morning. Praise the Lord!

We then had buffet lunch at the same hotel, for only 100 baht (S$4.50)! We sat and ate there for 2 hours! Awesome! The Thai food, sashimi, fruits and desserts, salad bar and fresh vegetables were neverending! So worth it lah, SG where got hotel restaurant serves good and cheap lunch buffet eh! God bless us with some great meals =)
3.30pm: Heard from Joan's friend that Thailand has an observatory, just like Australia. We were so excited to see stars thru the mega telescopes but we were in for a surprise when we got there, only after paying an 80 baht (S$3.50) cab fare.
Ticketing counter, very few people were around on a Sunday. Sad. Sounds like SG's Science Centre.

In we go to the observatory! We are way excited right now :D
Turns out it was a commentary video on the Zodiac in Thai bcos we have missed the English an hour ago. Dots. We understood nuthin and I was grumbling silently at everything, bcos there was no telescope to see stars or the moon. Bluff us sia!
Inside Big Earth, the ceiling was like a huge projection screen and the lil LED lights were the stars. The lighting crew just on and off the respective constellations as the narration goes. Sian lah! Waste 20 baht ($0.90) on this nonsense. Oh wells, shit happens right....

4.30pm: Less than one hour at the planetarium, we decided to cheer ourselves up with more shopping and we headed to Siam shopping area again!
We were about to enter Siam Paragon to see the luxury brands when people started streaming out of the building nonstop. Puzzled us waited for some announcements, and true enough a security guard started blabbering in Thai. Clueless yet again, we just followed the crowd and we found ourselves on the other side of Siam Paragon =.=
People were still streaming out of the building 30 mins later. WTH!
The BTS station was packed to the max, everyone was rushing to exchange coins and buying tickets to get out of the area asap. Blur us still wondering what is happening to BKK after 1 hour. I even managed to persuade Joan to shop at the nearby cosmetics shop to get nail polish. LOL! Next thing we saw on the road was military tanks and soldiers.
Couldn't capture the tank in time bcos the camera chose to say "Change the batteries" right there and then. Sighs. So here's a road where cars were exiting from Siam Paragon back to their homes.
After walking for 15 mins, we came across a massive traffic jam, just next to Central World. Crazy man, everyone is basically trying to save their asses lah.
Amidst the confusion and frantic tourists and locals, this dog was sleeping soundly on the overhead bridge. Best lah!
So in the end, we were forced to end our happy Good Friday with a sad bang, literally. Thanks to the stupid Reds protesters. Sighs. We were forced to takeaway MacDonalds for dinner in hot mid-afternoon, when lunch was still halfway digesting. Stupid lah.
Nevertheless, thank God for His protection and safety for us and those in the area too, bcos the protesters were right there at Siam. So near us but they din attempt to terrorise us with bombs and such lah. Phew!
A nice bath and dinner soothed us and CNN is again, our best friend. Star Movies was another great friend, bcos Garfield was on. -big hug-

Day 6
8.30am: Star Movies screened a nice movie, we lazed in bed b4 breakfast. Still wary about the protesters out there, we dilly-dallied till 10.30am.
It is Songkran Festival, but the evil aura of the protesters still lingered on in BKK. No water splashing activities, no happy people around.
Declared that the coast was clear, thanks to CNN, we headed down to Platinum Fashion Mall to shop but most shoes were closed. Big C (aka Giant/Carrefour), a hypermart in BKK, was the next best alternative!
So empty road, almost no traffic. So unlike Bangkok lah. We were so silly and blur that we still used the overhead bridge =.=

Shopped around Big C for only an hour and we bought loads of stuff there. Cheap and good stuff! I spent about 1200 baht (S$50) on clothes and miscellaneous stuff (:
Chilled at McCafe and bought the English papers there, to get a glimpse of the protests.
Fishball Mix in Tom Yum Soup - 40 baht (S$1.50)! Great soup they have!
Thai foodcourts are much more spacious, cleaner and yummier to dine in.
Miss Waffles' Rum & Raisin is soft and yummy, although the rum was almost not there.
We realised time was passing too slowly and we ended up in Big C again.
I never knew rice comes in other colours, not just white processed grains or brown unprocessed grains. They got purple, pink, orange, yellow, green, dark brown etc! Just like many rainbows combined into one place. Cool right!
5pm: The day was dragging on too slowly, so we decided to leave Big C and get dinner early so lazy us won't need to move once we get back into the room. Haha!

Medium Seafood pizza - 325 baht (S$14)
Very small pizza for us both, but the toppings were quite generous. Of course, our evening ended with more CNN and Star Movies yet again. No life!
Flying back to SG already, bags are almost packed! I miss my bed!
